"Those of us who have cut tracks with Warren know that feeling in the room when he
begins singing. Everyone starts smiling, shaking our heads in disbelief at how great it
sounds in the studio with the giant speakers tuned so perfectly in the control room.
Hearing this man sing a ballad in a major studio through a vintage Neumann tube microphone
with a solid engineer at the board can make you cry in that overwhelming, joyful way! I
know, because I did! I swear it was a completely emotional experience. He felt and
delivered the music like no one else I ever heard, and he did it on the first take! I can
just listen to the songs for hours on end (still) in complete disbelief that my songs
could sound like this! He really shocked me! Warren was suggested and connected by a
producer friend (Brad Colrick) who is in the jingle business. I had this
ballad, and I wanted to find a really strong voice with convincing emotion. I always said
that
but this time it actually happened! When Warren came into the studio, I was
surprised that he was so big. Then when he spoke I was stunned again that he was so
childlike, and shy. Well, he completely blew my mind when he sang the first pass on the
lyric. It's the one we kept! I am so very grateful to have had the privilege of meeting
and having Warren sing my songs." Scott Taylor
About
Scott Taylor...
Scott Taylor was born and raised in Edison, New Jersey. He wrote his first song at age 14,
and never stopped writing. He studied voice & guitar in New York City for a short
time, and also lived in Nashville, TN. Scott may currently be best known in the Hollywood
video and film editorial world for his marketing prowess. He has helped three different LA
based Avid® systems dealers reach the position of being the #1 Avid dealers in the world
in sales. He has also played a major role in bringing in more than one hundred million
dollars in sales for hardware and software postproduction tools for the industry. Scott
left a comfortable corporate life in the mid 80s as a top account executive with
AT&Ts sales and marketing team in New Jersey to take a shot at the only career
he ever really wanted; that of a songwriter. Much to the horror of his family, he quit his
job to sign on for a crash course in a music production program at Full Sail Center for
the Recording Arts in Orlando Florida. There he took the top honors in advanced recording
and finished #1 in the class of 88. Scott moved on to LA and quickly landed a few
recording engineering gigs with Kenny Rogers Lion Share Studios, an Audio consulting
sales gig at the world-famous West Lake Audio in Hollywood for a year, and had various
recording and technical positions at Music Animals and Sony Music Studios. Taylor
eventually became studio manager at Pfeifer Music Partners where he racked up some
impressive projects to his credit by the mid nineties. He had worked on commercial
releases, promotional spots, and music videos for the likes of Madonna, Elton John, Sheena
Easton, Kenny Loggins, Yes, Toad The Wet Sprocket, Mary J Bilge, Boys to Men, and assisted
on the voice over promos for the latest remixed Beatles release for Capitol, EMI, as well
as some high profile feature films including Pulp Fiction, and Lolita. Taylor is a
self-taught singer/songwriter who writes from an honest, confident and heart-felt
position. He is currently writing and pitching songs, he is also the President and CEO of
LAs TaylorMade Marketing, LLC, a full service marketing firm based in Encino,
California. |
